Hartland Equestrian Team

The Hartland Equestrian Team was one of 5 schools – Howell, Holly, Fenton, and Milford which participated in the first equestrian team competition in 1973 at the Bogie Lake Country club indoor facility.  No one remembers the outcome, however they remember it was so much fun they decided to do it again.  Meets were held again in the spring of 1974, the fall of 1974, the spring of 1975 and the fall of 1975.  Chuck Shoder (Milford) and Gerald Fuller (Hartland) were some of the very instrumental coach’s involved in getting this program started.   In 1976 the Huron Valley Interscholastic Horsemanship Association became the Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association.   Since then, MIHA has grown from 5 schools with 40 riders to 353 teams and 2,111 riders.

The Hartland Equestrian Team has accomplished much success throughout the years.
